Blockchained Youth Work

Trainings and course programmes in youth work reflect the broad variety in the field itself. However, both youth work and education in youth work are differently recognised and valued across the European Union. The benefit youth workers bring to society is often marginalised and the competencies youth workers hold are not recognised in areas beyond youth work. The project "Blockchained Youth Work" used a digital approach to make diplomas and certificates earned in youth work forgery-proof, retraceable and available to other institutions. The extent of the acquired competencies was made visible and transparent within and beyond youth work and will increase the recognition of youth work trainings. This digital repository was connected to a quality framework that was developed based on educational practices, existing quality parameters and strategies in the participating countries.
